Tiki Barber

Tiki Barber

Why We Like Him: Tiki Barber is a retired running back who played for the New York Giants. The former NFL star was a graduate of the University of Virginia. Tiki's talents on the football field were obvious. He was the first player to ever run 1000 yards in back to back seasons at UVa. He also earned a degree in Management Information Systems. Barber was drafted by the New York Giants in 1997. His career started off mediocre from 1997-1999 until his breakout year in 2000. In 2000 he rushed for over 1000 yards in 12 games. His only problem was he had trouble holding on to the ball. He has broken many NFL records in rushing and has also broken many team records. He retired from the Giants after the 2007 season having never won a Super Bowl ring. These days you can find him on NBC as a televsion broadcaster. He is so likable because he is a class act. Whether playing hard on the field or commenting on a game, he does it with style and grace. His time at University of Virginia was well spent.
