Why is MyCav.com so cool?
MyCav.com was developed for the devoted fans, interested parties and wonderful personalities at the University of Virginia. In hundreds of bars across America, people ask who attended UVA? We strive to answer that question by providing profiles and pictures of past and present Cavaliers. Click on any of the links on the right hand column which display the current list of profiles at MyCav.com. Also be sure to check out our UVa Auctions where you can pick up items ranging from football tickets to Cavalier memorabilia.
About the Cavalier
Way back in 63 the Cavalier became a horseback rider dressed up like a Cavalier. In 74 the horse disappeared. Later in 84 the Cavalier got a big head. During the 89 Citrus Bowl the horseback Cavalier reappeared. These days the horsed Cav charges the football team onto the field and the big head plays the crowd.
Each year there are open tryouts and a Cavalier is selected from the student body. We particularly like this snap shot of the Cavalier because he is standing so official...like the police officer behind him.
The Cavalier and the student body at Virginia University are often referred to as Cavaliers, Wahoos, Hoos, V-men, Virginians and Old Dominion.
Sing The Good Old Song!
That good old song of Wah-hoo-wah,
We 'll sing it o 'er and o 'er.
It cheers our hearts and warms our blood
To hear them shout and roar.
We come from Old Virginia,
Where all is bright and gay.
Let's all join hands and give a yell,
For the dear old UVa.
Wah-hoo-wah,
Wah-hoo-wah.
Uni-v, Virginia,
Hoo-rah-ray,
Hoo-rah-ray,
Ray! Ray! U-V-A!
