Katie Couric
Why We Like Her: Katie (Katherine) Couric graduated from the University of Virginia in 1979 with an American Studies degree. While at Virginia, she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. Katie Couric has spent her life trying to keep us all connected. She did this by working on the Today Show for fifteen years (from 1991 until 2006 as anchor and co-host), and then by doing prime time lead anchor duties on the CBS Evening News. She is admirable, above scandal, and a good role-model. Apparently, she is also "timeless" in that she is loved by all cohorts, be it elderly, middle aged or young. She is a strong advocate and works tirelessly in the fight against cancer. She's awesome.
