Dawn Staley
Why We Like Her: Dawn Staley is a three time Olympian who played basketball at the University of Virginia. During her career at the University of Virginia, Dawn Staley led the team to three Final Four and one national championship. Staley was drafted ninth overall pick of the Charlotte Sting in the 1999 WBNA Draft. She carried the United States flag at the 2004 Olympic Games opening ceremony in Athens, Greece. In 2008, she left Temple University to become the head women's basketball coach at the University of South Carolina. Dawn Staley had a fantastic professional basketball career and set many records overseas as well as in the WNBA. Dawn Staley is currently the head coach of the women's basketball team at the University of South Carolina. Lastly, Staley started her own children's foundation called the Dawn Staley Foundation.
